Green Man Project

“Let’s take our hearts for a walk in the woods and listen to the magic whispers of old trees.”- Unknown.

we are not alone.

As we wander these woods we are not alone, the trees, birds, ferns, and even the moss surround us with their quiet gentle lives. Over the past decade, my husband has tended this grove and hidden the faces of the Green Man amongst its trees. These faces, remind us we are not the only ones here and put a face and eyes to the land and its spirit. To our ancestors, this woodland spirit represented new life and rebirth. As winter gave way to spring and soil gave birth to green shoots. The people expressed their joy in mythic tales of the Green Man and his Lady. You may see a face in a tree and when you look back it may be gone.

The Green Man project is an open art collaboration. If you would like to join this project and have a Green Man or Green Lady to contribute you are invited to bring them to the woods and hide them for others to find.
